Kenneth E. Courtright, 70, French Lick, formerly of
Mitchell, passed away at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Bloomington
Hospital. Born September 20, 1939, in Orange County, he was the son of Chester
and Margie (Robbins) Courtright. He married Linda Alvey May 23, 1959.
He was owner/operator of Courtright Sawmill and a member of the Lumbermen's
Association. He was a former area supervisor at Koppers Industries. He graduated
from Shoals High School in 1956 and was a member of the American Checkers
Association and seven-time Indiana State Champion. Surviving: wife, Linda
Courtright, French Lick; mother, Margie Courtright, Shoals; daughters, Sherry
Lynn Zehr and husband, Jake, Dubois, Penny Ann Robbins and husband, Tony,
FrenchLick; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, brother, James Courtright,
Shoals; sister, Judy Felts and husband, Charles, Shoals. Kenneth was preceded in
death by his father. Graveside service will be at noon on Tuesday, January 19,
at Mitchell Cemetery with Larry Alvey and John Moffatt officiating. There will
be no visitation. Memorial

Checker players gave their respects and condolences to the family of Kenny Courtright at the 2010 Indiana State and District 6 Checker Tournament.
